Help

If your question isn't here, email hello@3dprintlpl.co.uk and you'll get a reply within a working day.

Ordering and prices

How is the price worked out?

Material by weight at the per-gram rate, plus printer time estimated from your model's volume and the layer height, plus a small setup fee that covers checking the file. The quote tool shows all three lines.

Is there a minimum order?

£8 per order, which covers the setup fee and a tiny part. There's no minimum quantity.

Do I need an account?

No. You order with an email address. You get a link to track the order, and your files are kept so reorders take seconds.

Can I get a quote without a 3D model?

Yes. Email a dimensioned sketch or a photo with measurements. Simple parts cost £30 to £60 to model, and you'll be told before any work starts.

Files and design

Which file types are accepted?

STL, STEP, 3MF and OBJ, up to 100 MB each. STEP is best if you have it, because it carries exact dimensions.

How accurate are the prints?

Typically within 0.2 mm horizontally and 0.1 mm vertically. Holes come out slightly small, so say if a fit matters.

Will my file be checked?

Every one, by a person, before printing. If something won't print well you'll get an email before you're charged.

Materials and finish

Which material should I pick?

If you're not sure, PETG. It's tough, prints well, and is fine outdoors. The materials page has a short guide.

Is any finishing included?

Support removal, deburring and a light sand. Painting, vapour smoothing and threaded inserts are available on request and priced per job.

Delivery, collection and returns

How long will it take?

Most orders dispatch in two to three working days. Royal Mail Tracked 48 usually arrives two working days after that. You see a dispatch date before you pay.

Can I collect?

Yes, in Liverpool city centre, by appointment. Choose collection at checkout and you'll get an email when it's ready.

What if the part is wrong or damaged?

If it's our mistake, it's reprinted or refunded, your choice. If the file was wrong, the reprint is quoted at a discount.

Business orders

Do you do trade accounts or invoicing?

Yes, for repeat business customers. Email to set up monthly invoicing.

Can you do hundreds of something?

Hundreds, yes, with a lead time agreed up front. Thousands, probably not on this process, and you'll be told honestly.

Still not sure?

Email the workshop. A person replies, usually the same day.
